The Famalicense municipal executive approved this Thursday the opening of the public tender for the construction of the new Family Health Unit (USF) of São Miguel-o-Anjo, in the parish of Calendário, with a base value of 2.2 million euros, half of which is covered by the municipality.
It's worth remembering that the new USF facilities will be built on land given to ARS Norte by the local authority, located in Rua Francisco António dos Reis, in Calendário, and will include spaces dedicated to Women's and Children's Health and General Healthcare.
The proposal for the contracting decision was approved yesterday at a meeting of the municipal executive.
According to the specifications, the execution period for this contract is 480 days and the project includes medical and nursing offices, an administrative area, a support area, waiting rooms, sanitary facilities, among other spaces.
Bids must be submitted by 11.59pm on the 30th day after the notice is sent for publication in the Official Gazette.
"We fought with the authorities, particularly through the PRR, for the means to obtain a considerable amount of funding to refurbish and rehabilitate the health facilities we have in Famalicão," said the mayor, Mário Passos, who was pleased with the progress of what will be the first of a series of works to build and renovate health centres in Famalicão.
"This is the starting point for the materialisation of a pressing need to renovate the building conditions of the municipality's healthcare network. A public service that is a primary need and an unequivocal right of the citizens of Famalicense," adds the mayor.
It should be remembered that Famalicão City Council signed a series of programme contracts with the Northern Regional Health Administration that served as the basis for submitting applications to the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), with a view to building and equipping primary health care facilities, including the São Miguel-o-Anjo, Joane, Nine and Ruivães USFs, as well as refurbishing the Famalicão Health Centre and the Pneumological Diagnostic Centre.
