At the beginning of the 20th century, only 10% of the world population lived in cities. Today that figure is 50%. As cities grow, so do the challenges as space becomes scarcer and social tensions, traffic, noise and pollution increase. However, cities also offer many opportunities such as more efficient use of resources, energy and infrastructure. Sustainable construction, although it has remained a relatively small field of expertise, is today becoming the technical solution for the future.
