"Capacity-building around participative and communitarian artistic themes" is how Hugo Cruz, artistic director of MEXE Cultural Association and trainer, described the capacity-building action that took place on the past 13th of November, in which about ten professionals from artistic structures connected to the famalicense territory were present. The session took place at Didáxis Cooperativa de Ensino, in Riba de Ave, under the scope of the municipal project Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos.
Besides the exploration of notions of culture and community participation, of participatory and community artistic practices, there was the presentation and discussion of concrete cases, related to community actions in progress in the famalicense territory.
"It translated into a reflection about what has been the work developed by the several institutions involved (in Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos), and, above all, all the networking that is being generated" refers the artistic director of MEXE.
This capacity-building workshop was developed in the scope of the action "Art and Community Meeting", inserted in the project Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos, promoted by Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipality and co-financed by NORTE 2020, through the European Social Fund (ESF).
It should be noted that MEXE is a non-profit association responsible for monitoring the projects being developed throughout 2021 and 2022, under the scope of Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos, with a special focus on the training of teams and participants in the field of good community artistic practices, as well as enhancing cross-fertilization between projects, structures, teams, participants and intervention territories.
This monitoring work will culminate, in October 2022, with the holding of an "Art and Community Meeting" which will serve to systematize the experiences and results proposed by the artistic entities involved in the actions developed under the Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos Programme, as well as to enhance their cross-fertilization with national and international projects considered examples of good practice.
