Shot between Portugal and Senegal, crossing Morocco and Mauritania, YOON takes a look at certain economic activities and mobilities between North and South, involving not only goods and people, but also information and ideas. All this is revealed through the journeys of Mbaye S., a routier (the name used to refer to those who drive used cars for commercial purposes) who, every month, covers the more than 4000 km of road that separate the two places he calls home, on a risky and solitary journey southwards, full of (dis)encounters, obstacles and constraints, and revealing a complex network of relationships and grey areas. Yoon, which in Wolof language can mean road, path or journey, is a documentary feature film project, which also has a research and artistic project component. YOON was premiered at DocLisboa.
