Voltas is back at the service of famalicenses after the interruption of service, by the company with whom the municipality has protocoled the circuit, allegedly due to the pandemic situation. The urban circular transport is available since January 3rd, circulating uninterruptedly from Monday to Friday, between 7:36am and 19:06pm, except on public holidays. The service allows free trips in Famalicão's urban centre for holders of a valid public transport title of the day, including the Happy Senior Pass and the Student Pass, otherwise through the payment of 1 euro.
Voltas' permanent circular route, launched in 2016, connects free car parks, public transport stations and the city's main public services. It makes stops at the Bus Station, Municipal Library, Devesa Park (CITEVE), Court, Santo António roundabout, Hospital, Lusíada University, 1.º de Maio roundabout, Health Centre, Railway Station, among others.
Each lap lasts approximately 20 minutes. The bus stop locations are identified with the usual public transport stop signs, and specific signs will be placed when the works in progress in the urban centre of Famalicão are concluded.
The service Voltas, launched in 2016, was suspended for about two years. The reactivation was possible due to the protocol signed between the City Hall of Vila Nova de Famalicão and the company Transdev, which allowed to ensure the public road passenger transport service in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão.
