The expansion of the cemetery of Novais and the construction of two more leisure parks are the main priorities of the Union of Parishes of Ruivães and Novais, which this Tuesday, May 24, received the visit of the Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão for another "Presidency of Proximity".
Mário Passos was accompanied by the Mayor of the parish, Duarte Veiga, who had the opportunity to share with the mayor the main ambitions of the executive of the Parish for the development of the community.
These ambitions include the enlargement of the Novais cemetery, the creation of two leisure parks, one in Novais, near the Parish Centre, and another in Ruivães, near Quinta de Rebordelo, the creation of more parking spaces and the continuity of the road network requalification, with interventions now in Rua de Ôres and Rua do Areal.
The pedestrians' safety in the surroundings of Ruivães’s school and the enlargement of Ruivanense facilities, whose project has already been prepared by the local authority, were also two issues that deserved the attention of the Mayor of Ruivães.
"I take from here a set of concerns and ambitions that are important for this community and that also become important for the City Hall", said Mário Passos, expressing the total availability of the local authority to support the implementation of the various projects mentioned.
The visit to the field ended with the usual meeting with the community, which was attended by about twenty people. The need to reinforce the public transport network and the construction of the new scout headquarters were some of the issues addressed.
Satisfied with the work afternoon, the president of the parish council says that "wide steps" were taken in the definition and fulfilment of the strategic vision of the União de Freguesias. Duarte Veiga speaks of "a promising future" for Ruivães and Novais.
