The Parish Council of Requião will undergo expansion and renovation works that will provide its services, including the Main Hall and the President's Office, with new features and greater accessibility. This was one of the results of the working visit of the Mayor, Mário Passos, to the parish of Requião, in the scope of the Presidency of Proximity. The intervention is still to be designed by the architects of the City Hall, but its implementation is already assured, "in order to allow access to all citizens to the hall of citizenship that is the Great Hall of a parish".
During the visit to Requião, the remodelling and extension works of the Family Health Unit (USF) Antonina were highlighted, which are currently underway, and which will bring improved conditions for its professionals and users, as well as new responses and care in the area of health. While the works take place, the services provided by that unit will be in provisional facilities, operating from next week in the parish's Multipurpose Pavilion.
Accompanied by the new president of the parish council, Francisco Oliveira, the Mayor of Famalicão analysed the intervention project for the surroundings of the Santa Luzia Chapel and visited the sanitation works, underway in a set of local arteries, which, when completed, will raise the sanitation network of the parish to 90%.
During the meeting with the community, the Mayor made himself available for an open and frontal dialogue, and several impressions were exchanged about the development of the parish and the municipality itself. Bigger concern for the programme "Cuidar Maior", whose financing deadline is ending, and for the need of the Sport, Cultural and Social Association 1.º de Maio to renovate its changing rooms. Mário Passos expressed sympathy for the problems exposed and left the guarantee of municipal support.
"Requião is a parish that in recent years has gained quality of life as a result of new community facilities such as the sports centre, the renovated school, the requalified churchyard, the new multi-purpose hall and other investments. But the future is not only made of the past and that is why we have to have in mind new priorities", said Mário Passos, regarding the displacement.
