The Mayor of the City Council of Vila Nova de Famalicão attended the first day of the 24th edition of the National Scout Camp, which runs until Sunday, August 7, in the municipality of Indanha-a-Nova, with the participation of nearly 20 thousand people.
Mário Passos joined, Monday, the nearly 1000 scouts of the county that are present in ACANAC, promoted by the Corpo Nacional de Escutas (CNE).
The Famalicão group is one of the biggest in this edition of the Camp. Numbers that make the mayor "very proud".
“Scouting is very strong in our municipality. Vila Nova de Famalicão owns a lot to its scouts for everything they do for our community”, he said.
The Mayor, who also had the opportunity to be in the enclosure of ACANAC with the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, wished to all the scouts a good week of sharing, learning and personal/community growth.
The Mayor of Famalicão also met the National Chief of CNE, the famalicense Ivo Faria, congratulating him personally for his journey in scouting and for the organisation of another National Camp.
It should be remembered that the ACANAC is an activity of reference for the CNE, which is celebrating its first centenary. In this edition, the event has 18 500 participants, including 650 foreign scouts from 24 nationalities.
