The title of the exhibition "Praise and Simplification of Portuguese Literature" is a tracing of the title of a poem by the Portuguese surrealist poet Mário Cesariny, whose documentary and artistic collection is in the possession of the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation. The poem is entitled "Praise and Simplification of Álvaro de Campos" in which Mário Cesariny theorizes his relationship with the Portuguese famous Writer Fernando Pessoa.
With the curatorship of António M. Feijó, João R. Figueiredo and Miguel Tamen, this Permanent Exhibition extends over 4 floors and 14 rooms. It is presented from the present to the past, travels through five centuries (15th - 20th centuries) of Portuguese literature, trying to establish connections between each one of the spaces, which may not be so evident.
