The recipe described by Camilo Castelo Branco in the book "The Saint of the Mountain", 1866, is the star of another gastronomic weekend in Vila Nova de Famalicão. The Galinha Mourisca, a dish from the Camilian menu, sets the tone for a new edition of the initiative "Dias à Mesa" which starts this Friday, June 10, in four restaurants in the municipality.
Until the 13th, famalicenses will be able to taste this succulent recipe that was recovered from Camilo's literature and reinvented by two well-known local chefs - Renato Cunha (Ferrugem) and Lígia Santos (Club MasterCOOK and Casas da Li).
"The Antonine Festivities are also a good opportunity to promote, to those who visit us, what Famalicão has best. By presenting this dish in this edition of the Dias à Mesa we are precisely pulling our identity, combining gastronomy with another strategic product of the municipality, the work of Camilo and the Camillian Route", says the mayor, Mário Passos.
It should be noted that the Galinha Mourisca will be served from 10 to 13 June in four restaurants in the municipality: Ferrugem; ME.AT; Moutados and Oprato.
This is the fourth moment of a long tasting menu served throughout the year by 24 restaurants in the municipality that are associated to the initiative promoted by the municipality.
The Dias à Mesa takes place throughout the year, in a perfect combination with the local and seasonal products, which enhances the knowledge and flavours of Vila Nova de Famalicão, in a partnership with the local restaurants and industry, which attracts the lovers of good regional cuisine, in its multiple formats. The invitation to taste arises on specific days, and in harmonisation with the best wines, combining gastronomy with a very attractive and mobilizing agenda of activities.
It should be noted that the initiative foresees a 10% discount directly in the restaurants, but also in the participating accommodations for visitors that come to Vila Nova de Famalicão during the days in which each announced moment takes place. The promotion cannot be accumulated with other discounts and is valid through direct reservation in the establishments.
Highlighting the good regional cuisine and providing lovers of good food with unique gastronomic experiences are the main goals of the Dias à Mesa, which takes place throughout the year allied to the municipal agenda of activities.
