The Mayor, Mário Passos, participated yesterday, May 4, at the 15th COTEC Europa Meeting that took place at the Theatro Circo in Braga, with the presence of the Heads of State of the three countries COTEC - Portugal, Spain and Italy. Under the motto «Culture to the Encounter of Innovation», topics related to the importance of culture to stimulate creativity and innovation, in order to generate competitive differentiation, positive economic results were discussed, creation of added value and social cohesion for enterprises.
Organised since 2005, the COTEC Europe Meetings are held annually in Spain, Italy and Portugal and are attended by business leaders, policy makers and academics from all sectors of economic activity, as well as with the presence of the Heads of State of the three countries of Southern Europe. The meetings are a forum for debate and reflection on the role of innovation as a competitive strategy and have as their main objective the strengthening of European business competitiveness.
COTEC Portugal - Business Association for Innovation is a private non-profit association, with the status of a public utility institution, being the main Portuguese business association for the promotion of innovation and business technological cooperation, encompassing multinational companies, large national groups and Smes in various sectors of activity. The association, established in 2003, has, since its inception, with the support of the President of the Republic, who currently holds the position of President of the General Assembly of COTEC Portugal.
It should be noted that COTEC Portugal’s management has been chaired since 2018 by famalicense Isabel Furtado, CEO of TMG Automotive, of the Manuel Gonçalves Textile Group.
