The doors of Casa de Delães were officially opened, a space at the service of the community of Delães that results from the requalification of the old Health Centre of the parish. The second phase of the project has already been approved by the municipal executive and includes the construction of a support infrastructure to the cultural and community dynamics, adjacent to this building: the Delães Auditorium, with about 268 seats, stage, control room and dressing rooms.
At the inauguration of the Casa de Delães, last Saturday, August 6, the Mayor showed his satisfaction in seeing this work "long awaited by the people of Delães" concluded. "It is a modern space that will allow to serve more and better the citizens of the parish and to potentiate the associative dynamics (...) it is an investment in the quality of life of delaenses", emphasizes Mário Passos.
"It is the result of the work and effort of many people, over many years", said the President of the Parish Council, Francisco Gonçalves, who highlighted the arduous path taken to achieve this project. "The Casa (de Delães) will always be open to associations and the population", he stressed.
Both presidents highlighted that the work "does not stop here", referring to the second phase of the project: the Delães Auditorium. An infrastructure that "will allow the community to develop more initiatives, with more quality" said the mayor.
The Casa de Delães hosts the headquarters of the Junta de Freguesia and the CTT post office - operating in the new space from today -, and has more than a dozen rooms, which include: assembly room, meeting room and rooms to support the associative and collective movements of the parish. The work represented a municipal investment of over 600 thousand euros, the largest ever made in a social infrastructure of the parish, to which will be added the investment of over one million euros associated with the construction of the Delães Auditorium, in the back of the Casa de Delães.
